We learn from the LAMED that studying is the key to proper observance of the commandments. The LAMED stands tall and proud that its dedication to education is firmly routed in truth. The letter is made up of the lower KAF (openness) with a VAV connecting and reaching heavenwards to the Eternal Truth of the Torah. The numerical value of both these letters is 20 + 6 = 26, the numerical value of the Four Letter Name of God. (YUD_HEH_VAV_HEH). It is our duty to teach those around us by living up to the best version of ourselves and growing from studying the Torah. “Lead by example.” To teach is to learn from your students. It also represents the (LEV) heart, as it is located in the center of the Hebrew alphabet. The lower powers of the soul (30 of 100) are represented by the legs - the fetus, therefore, is in a crouching position raising its bottom half to his head.
